Privacy Policy

What I collect, why, and how to get it removed — in plain English.

This policy explains what personal data Brite Tech Lifestyle collects, why, and what you can do about it. It is written in plain English on purpose. If anything here is unclear, email hello@britetechlifestyle.com and I will explain it properly.

Who is responsible for your data

Brite Tech Lifestyle is run by Dean Britter, based in the United Kingdom. For data protection purposes Dean Britter is the data controller. The quickest way to reach me about anything on this page is hello@britetechlifestyle.com.

What I collect, and when

  • Your email address — only if you give it to me: subscribing to the newsletter, downloading the free AI prompt pack, or requesting a project brief from the services page. Nothing else on the site asks for personal details.
  • Your name — only where a form asks for it, so replies are not addressed to a stranger.
  • Anonymous usage data — Google Analytics records things like which pages are visited, roughly which country the visit came from, and which device type was used. It is not used to identify you and I never try to.

There is no account system, no comment section, and no advertising network on this site, so there is nothing else being gathered in the background.

Why I use it, and the legal basis

  • To send you what you asked for — the newsletter, the prompt pack, or a brief. Legal basis: your consent, which you gave when you submitted the form.
  • To reply to you about a project or question. Legal basis: legitimate interests, or the steps leading to a contract if you are hiring me.
  • To understand what people read, so I write more of what helps. Legal basis: consent for the cookies involved — see the cookie policy.

I do not sell your data. I do not share it for advertising. I do not build profiles on you.

Who else handles it

Running a website means using a few services. Each only receives what it needs to do its job:

  • MailerLite — stores the mailing list and sends the emails.
  • Cloudflare — passes form submissions from the site to MailerLite.
  • Google Analytics — anonymous traffic statistics.
  • IONOS — hosts the website and its server logs.
  • Amazon and Etsy — where my books and digital products are sold. If you buy something, you are buying from that platform under their terms and privacy policies, not mine. I never see your payment details.

How long I keep it

Your email address stays on the mailing list until you unsubscribe, then it is removed. Enquiry emails are kept while they are useful and deleted when they are not. Analytics data expires on Google's own retention schedule.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask me to: show you what I hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict what I do with it, hand it over in a portable form, or stop using it altogether. You can withdraw consent at any time — every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and it works immediately.

Email hello@britetechlifestyle.com and I will action it. There is no charge and you do not need to give a reason.

Complaints

If you think I have handled your data badly, please tell me first — I would rather fix it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, the UK regulator, at ico.org.uk.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects you, the date below changes with it. Substantial changes will be mentioned in the newsletter rather than slipped in quietly.
